Practice remote viewing from your AI app

Connect Social RV to ChatGPT, Claude, and other AI apps. Start a blind session, write your impressions in the chat, and reveal the target without leaving the conversation.

How a session works

Social RV works as a connector (an MCP server) inside your AI app. The session is the same one you would do in Social RV; the chat is just where you do it.

  1. 1Start a session

    Ask your AI app to start a Social RV session. Social RV assigns a hidden target, exactly like New session in the app.

  2. 2Get your tasking number

    You receive a tasking number such as 4721 8839. That is all you, or the AI, learn about the target.

  3. 3Write your impressions

    Work blind and type what comes through: colors, textures, shapes, sounds, and descriptions of anything you would sketch.

  4. 4Submit and see the target

    Tell the AI you are done. It submits your words exactly as you wrote them, then shows you the target so you can compare.

Try something like: “Start a Social RV session”, and when you finish, “I'm done, submit my session.”

Good to know

  • Text only

    Sketches, photos, files, and links can't be submitted from an AI app. Describe your sketches in words, or open the session link and upload your drawings in Social RV before you submit.

  • Same daily limits

    Each session you start counts toward the same daily limit as the app, so only start one when you're ready to do it. Premium members have unlimited sessions.

  • In your history

    Sessions appear in your Social RV history with your impressions and the target, and they're AI-scored like any other session.

  • Your words, unedited

    The AI is told to submit your impressions exactly as you wrote them and not to suggest impressions while you work.

Set up your app

Every app uses the same server address. You only need to set it up once.

https://www.social-rv.com/mcp

Use the www address exactly as shown; some apps refuse the address without it.

ChatGPT

Custom connectors need developer mode, which is available on paid ChatGPT plans on the web. On Business, Enterprise, and Edu plans, a workspace admin may need to allow it.

  1. Open Settings, then Apps & Connectors (the name varies), and turn on Developer mode under the advanced settings.
  2. Select Create to add a connector. Name it Social RV, paste the server URL, and choose OAuth for authentication.
  3. Confirm the custom connector warning, then select Connect and sign in to Social RV.
  4. In a new chat, turn on the Social RV connector from the tools menu and ask it to start a session.

Claude (web, desktop, and mobile)

Add the connector on claude.ai or in the desktop app. Once it's added, it's also available in the Claude mobile apps.

  1. Open Settings, then Connectors, and select Add custom connector. On Team and Enterprise plans, an owner adds it for the organization first.
  2. Name it Social RV and paste the server URL. Leave the advanced OAuth client fields empty.
  3. Select Add, then Connect, and sign in to Social RV.
  4. In a chat, make sure Social RV is enabled in the tools menu, then ask Claude to start a session. On mobile, the connector shows up in the same menu.

Claude Code

  1. Add the server from your terminal:
claude mcp add --transport http social-rv https://www.social-rv.com/mcp
  1. Start Claude Code, run /mcp, choose social-rv, and select Authenticate to sign in.

Codex

  1. Add the server, then sign in:
codex mcp add social-rv --url https://www.social-rv.com/mcp
codex mcp login social-rv
  1. A browser window opens. Sign in to Social RV and choose Allow access. If codex mcp add already opened the sign-in page, you can skip the login command.

If login fails with an error that mentions access_token, sign in with explicit scopes instead:

codex mcp login social-rv --scopes email,profile

Cursor

Add Social RV to ~/.cursor/mcp.json (or open Cursor Settings, find the MCP section, and add a new server, which opens the same file).

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "social-rv": { "url": "https://www.social-rv.com/mcp" }
  }
}

If the file already lists other servers, add the social-rv entry inside the existing mcpServers block. Back in Cursor's MCP settings, select the sign-in button next to Social RV.

VS Code (GitHub Copilot)

Add Social RV to .vscode/mcp.json in a project, or to your user MCP configuration.

{
  "servers": {
    "social-rv": { "type": "http", "url": "https://www.social-rv.com/mcp" }
  }
}

Start the server from the file or the MCP servers list, and sign in when VS Code asks. Then use it from Copilot Chat in agent mode.

Other apps that support remote MCP servers with sign-in work the same way: add the server URL and approve access when asked.

Sign-in and permissions

You sign in with your existing Social RV account. Your AI app never sees your password: it opens a Social RV page where you sign in and choose Allow access or Deny. That page shows which app is asking, so only approve it if you just tried to connect that app.

Once you approve, the app can:

  • Start new practice sessions on your account
  • Submit your sessions and show you the revealed target
  • See your email address and basic profile

The connector gives the app two actions, starting a session and submitting one, and every session it starts is on your account.

Disconnecting an app

Remove Social RV from the app you connected:

  • ChatGPT: Settings, Apps & Connectors, Social RV, then disconnect or delete it.
  • Claude: Settings, Connectors, then disconnect or remove Social RV.
  • Claude Code: claude mcp remove social-rv
  • Codex: codex mcp logout social-rv to sign out, or codex mcp remove social-rv to remove it.
  • Cursor and VS Code: delete the social-rv entry from your mcp.json file.

Sessions you already did stay in your Social RV history. If you can't remove access from the app, email contact@social-rv.com.

FAQ and troubleshooting

Can the AI see the target before I submit?

No. Social RV only sends the tasking number when you start a session. The target is sent after you submit, and the AI app is told not to guess, describe, or hint at it before then.

It says I don't have a display name

Sessions need a display name, the same as in the app. Open social-rv.com/home, choose a display name, then ask your AI app to start a session again.

It says the target is pending

Some targets are assigned with blockchain verification, which can take a minute after you submit. Your session is already saved. Ask your AI app to check the session again; it fetches the target without submitting twice. You can also open the session link to see the target in Social RV.

I tried to attach an image or sketch

The AI app connection only accepts text, so images, sketches, files, and links are refused and nothing is submitted. Describe your sketch in words instead. To upload drawings, open the session link in Social RV before you submit and upload them there.

I've reached my daily limit

AI app sessions count toward the same daily session limit as the app. The message tells you when your next session is available. Premium members have unlimited sessions.

Can I pick a target pool or join the weekly target?

Not from an AI app yet. Sessions use the same free practice pools that New session selects by default. Weekly community targets and group sessions stay in the Social RV app.

My app can't connect or sign-in fails

Check that the server URL is exactly https://www.social-rv.com/mcp, including www. Sign in to Social RV in the browser window the app opens and choose Allow access. If it still fails, remove Social RV from the app and add it again. In Codex, see the tip in the Codex steps.
